The Pathways group has been in existence since 2007. However, it took a few years for serious thought to be given to establishing a website to chronicle the group’s activities. It was eventually launched on the evening of 1 November 2010 in the course of a social media surgery held at The White Star pub in Stoke (the pub derives its name from the fact that it’s owned by the Burslem-based Titanic Brewery). We are grateful to the volunteers who gave their time to offer guidance at the surgery, and owe a particular debt to Claire White for steering us toward WordPress as a suitable online host for our writings. Psychiatric nurse Janet Sigley also deserves thanks for giving up her evening in order to join the three members of the group (Dominic Orosun, Dave Sweetsur and the present writer, Mark Conlon) who attended the surgery. In the above photos, we see Claire guiding us through the process of registering the site.
